![]() Of course, that may not allow people like me with a 6th gen CPU to run Win11 but it would still be handy for bitlocker. Those that want it can install the update those that don't can ignore it. ![]() Moreover, would Asus consider issuing new BIOS firmware with PTT enabled? They don't need to provide a UI in the BIOS (if that's too much work) but just provide the same firmware with PTT enabled. My question is: why didn't Asus expose the PTT setting for chipsets that support it? My guess is that it's just a switch at bootup. You can daisy chain other bitlockered drives onto the C drive so you don't need to enter their passwords. All that happens is that when you boot up, you're asked for the bitlocker password. A lot of people don't realise that you don't need TPM for that. Putting the Win 11 requirements to one side, I'd like TPM because I have bitlockered my C drive. It turns out that it's not unusual for PTT support to be not exposed by the BIOS of some mobos, according to this Ars Technica article. Unfortunately, as I said, the BIOS doesn't expose the PTT setting! So, in theory, my mobo supports TPM 2.0 via firmware even though it doesn't have a TPM chip or an expansion slot for a TPM card. For those affected visit win-raid forums, Cannot enable Intel PTT (TPM 2.0) at ASUS motherboard thread. It has the TPM integrated, but it´s disabled and hidden in the UEFI bios (Thanks ASUS). This includes PTT (Platform Trust Technology), which "supports all Microsoft requirements for firmware Trusted Platform Module (fTPM) 2.0". I was able to activate TPM 2.0 in an Asus Maximus VIII Hero with Z170 Chipset and Skylake processor without any external TPM add on. On reading more, I learnt that my mobo's chipset is the Intel Z170 Chipset. If I buy an asus tpm 2. There is no option in the bios for ptt/tpm but on the motherboard there is a 14-1 pin tpm header. The mobo doesn't include a header for a TPM chip or the PTT BIOS setting. I have an asus maximus viii hero on the latest bios version. So when I learnt Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0, I realised I wouldn't be able to run the OS. The machine is fast - even a "heavy" app like Visual Studio Code starts instantaneously! These changes ensure that the Hall of Fame only includes scores that have passed all of our latest validation checks.About five years ago, I built a PC with the Maximus VIII Hero Alpha mobo. New scores for 3DMarkFire Strike, Sky Diver, Cloud Gate, and Ice Storm must use 3DMark v1.5.915 or later. If it gets full TB3 validation, it would be another plus point to. New scores must use SystemInfo 4.40 or later. While the Maximus VIII Formula is not going to cost the same as the Extreme at 500, it is expected fit in that 400-500 bracket. The Hall of Fame now only displays historical scores submitted using SystemInfo 4.34 or later. Results that failed to pass the new, stricter validation have been removed from the Hall of Fame. Time measurement validation is now less forgiving. Results that fail to pass the new validation have been removed from the Hall of Fame. We've improved the accuracy of the time measurement validation. You can find this setting on the 3DMark options screen. SystemInfo hardware monitoring must also be turned on for the benchmark run. New 3DMark scores submitted after Februmust use >3DMark v or later and SystemInfo 5.4 or later. We've improved our score validation checks. You must now use 3DMark v or later to be eligible for the Hall of Fame. 3DMark scores from older versions submitted after Decemwill no longer appear in benchmark search results.
